Mountain View Music is not your typical music store. It is a hub for some of the best folk musicians around, many of whom reside right here in Mountain View— The Folk Music Captial of the World!

From our favorite old-timers picking the classics on our front porch, to the award-winning youth old time and bluegrass bands rehearsing in our main room, we are here for every musician’s needs. More than a music store, we are a home for the folk music community.

Club Possum” is a free music show every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Mountain View Meeting Place. Every show features some of the most talented musicians in the Mountain View area. The intimate setting gives the audience a wonderfully close feel with the music and the performers.

Club Possum is supported by the non-profit organization Ozark Roots Music and Art.

KWOZ is a radio station airing a country music format licensed to Mountain View, Arkansas, broadcasting on 103.3 MHz FM. The station serves the areas of Searcy, Mountain Home, Batesville, and Newport, and is owned by WRD Entertainment, Inc.

Pam adds to her musical memories with the current lineup of groups she performs with; The Pam Setser Band, Apple & Setser, Leatherwoods, and Ozark Granny Chicks. She also performs as a solo artist. And today, Pam's newest album, Now, reflects her life in music. It is an Americana mix of folk, bluegrass, gospel, 1930s swing, and country.

Music occupies very special places in the hearts of Ozark Mountain folk. The songs of the south and the folk dance tunes of the region provide a looking glass offering a treasured glimpse of history of American folk music in Arkansas. The fiddle and banjo were favorite sources of entertainment for pioneer settlers, and these two popular American folk instruments still sing out among the sounds one hears today when visiting the beautiful Ozarks. Guitars, mandolins, dulcimers, autoharps and other acoustic instruments join to create the old-time music that is still enjoyed to this very day in scenic Mountain View, the heart of the Ozark folk music scene.
